Search
Try advanced queries in the search bar. Search queries match against transaction names, memos, and line items.
Name search
Search transaction names using keywords and operators:
| Query | Matches |
|---|---|
Star | Names containing "Star" (e.g., Starbucks, FiveStar) |
"Star" | Names matching exactly "Star" |
Star or TIM | Names containing "Star" OR "TIM" (e.g., Starbucks, Tim Hortons) |
(Star or TIM) and bucks | Names containing ("Star" OR "TIM") AND "bucks" (e.g., Starbucks, Tim bucks) |
Line item search
Transactions with line items (from receipt scans or manual entry) are automatically included in search results. When you search for a keyword, it matches against transaction descriptions and individual line item descriptions
For example, searching coffee will find transactions where "coffee" appears in any of these fields, including line items like "Iced Coffee" or "Coffee Creamer" within a larger receipt.
Memo search
Search your transaction notes/memos using the memo: prefix:
| Query | Matches |
|---|---|
memo:refund | Notes containing "refund" |
memo:"exact note" | Notes matching exactly "exact note" |
memo:(food or grocery) | Notes containing "food" OR "grocery" |
memo:(lunch meeting) | Notes containing both "lunch" AND "meeting" |
Memo words support letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, periods, and apostrophes (e.g., memo:self-employed, memo:o'brien). Use quotes for special characters or spaces: memo:"café order".
Combining memo with name search
Mix memo and name searches with OR/AND logic:
- memo:refund starbucks -> transactions with "refund" in notes AND "starbucks" in name
- memo:tacos OR chipotle -> transactions with "tacos" in notes OR "chipotle" in name
