Skwad's budgeting is zero-based by default, without any micro-management. To get the most out of it, keep a few things in mind:

Adding a category to your budget is different from creating a category. Categories must be created first before they can be added to a budget.

📄️ Reserved categories
Some envelopes aren't meant to be spent this month. An emergency fund, a car-repair sinking fund, a holiday-gifts stash: money you deliberately set aside and let grow. Marking a category Reserved keeps that saved-up balance from inflating your Available to spend, so the total reflects money you can actually use right now.

Skwad displays various warnings and notifications in your budget view to help you stay on top of your finances. Understanding these warnings helps you maintain an accurate and balanced budget.
