Bank Linking
Need bank linking? Skwad partners with SimpleFIN to offer bank linking via MX.
While bank linking offers convenience, it's important to be aware of potential risks involved with sharing your bank passwords. We recommend using email scans if your bank has them.
Linking your bank to Skwad via SimpleFIN (MX)
Skwad partners with SimpleFIN to provide optional bank linking. SimpleFIN is powered by MX which supports over 16000 financial institutions. With SimpleFIN, you get:
- Data freedom: you’re not locked into a single app. Take your data with you.
- Strict access controls: decide who you want to share your data with.
- One click revoke: cancel access to your data with a single click.

- Head over to SimpleFIN Bridge and log in to your account. Create a new account if you don't have one yet.
The dashboard is broken down into three sections: Financial Institutions, Apps, and Access Log.

- Financial Institutions: add your banks and investment accounts here. You'll be prompted to pay to connect your first account if you haven't done so already.

- Apps: Here's where Skwad comes in. Copy and paste this setup token in your Skwad connections settings.

- That's it! Skwad will periodically refresh your accounts and transactions.
SimpleFIN emails you when a new IP accesses your data, and shows you how often. Skwad's IP addresses should be registered to Amazon (AWS).

Revoking
You can also revoke access at anytime!

FAQ
Why is this a separate subscription?
We understand that multiple subscriptions for a single service is very annoying, but this is the only to keep Skwad affordable for everyone that's uninterested in bank linking. As a budget app, we strongly believe that members shouldn't pay for features they're not using.
Please note that Skwad doesn't make any money off bank linking features. The additional payment goes directly to our partner, SimpleFIN (hence, the 2 subscriptions.)
Why don't I see all my transactions?
SimpleFIN is able to pull up to 90 days of historical data. That is the maximum, some banks only allow up to 30 or 60 days of historical data.
SimpleFIN sending too many alerts?
SimpleFIN will email you everytime a new IP address uses your access token. Skwad's IP addresses are dynamic - they change often, sometimes multiple times in a single day.
This can lead to SimpleFIN alerts clogging up your inbox. You can setup email rules to auto-archive these, mark them as read, or move them to a separate folder for you to review at a later date.
